Hello beautiful people! So, one of my closest girlfriends invited me and another close friend to Washington, D.C. for the weekend. I could not wait to tell you all about my girl’s weekend away in D.C. I HAD THE MOST AMAZING TIME! She really showed us a good time. It was amazing food, rooftops, drinks, and great company. I can’t forget the new memories that we will continue to laugh about for years to come. Where do I start?
Before I share the amazing restaurants that you should absolutely add to your list for when you may visit D.C, let me start by saying this. If you have been thinking about taking “that” trip or feeling like you need time away…GO DO IT. I did not know how much I needed to reset until I touched down in D.C. I missed my family like crazy and I talked to the husband and kiddos multiple times a day. However, being a way was refreshing. I say that to say, take the trip to reset, refocus, and refresh.

Now, to the food. I will provide a list of all the restaurants that we visited, but there are a few I would like to share in detail.
DLENA – Wood-fire Mexican Cocina
This place here y’all, CHEFS KISS!
We ordered a Tomahawk Steak to share which they cooked table side. For our sides we ordered baked potatoes which were not your usual baked potatoes; they were amazing. We also ordered broccolini and these delectable grilled oysters. Pictured below are the Steak and Oysters.

Yardbird Southern Table and Bar
We went to Yardbird for brunch on Saturday and it did not disappoint. We ordered quite a few dishes at this restaurant. Pictured below is the phenomenal chicken and waffles with honey hot sauce, chilled spiced watermelon, Vermont sharp cheddar cheese waffle and bourbon maple syrup (yummy). I am a bread person so I could not leave there without ordering their famous butter milk biscuits with the pepper jam. Oh, and the Mimosa…tasty! BA-BY! Pictured below are the Chicken and Waffles and Deviled Eggs.

Pallet 22
This is where we ate brunch at on Sunday. Pallet 22 is located in this cute little area of Arlington, VA. I love everything about this area and this restaurant. First, it was bottomless food and discounted Mimosas for like $35, come on now somebody! We tried so many different options and I was eating so fast because it was that good that I forgot to take pictures of most of my small plates. However, I did manage to get a picture of the delicious brick oven personal pizza (pizza is my favorite food) and the pork belly bao buns…I ordered these bao buns twice, they were so good.

Some of the other places we visited were:
Stan’s
Conrad Rooftop
Swingers indoor golf
Oyster Bar (A great happy hour spot)
Canopy – The Wharf
I will end by saying again, I had the best time. We watched “He’s All That” on Sunday morning, because face it we were tired come Sunday. It was a cute movie and a great way to be lazy with some of my favorite ladies. We laughed, we danced…we were JUST happy!
If you are reading this, Tae and Enya…I love you, girls…thank you for JUST being YOU!

Till next time,
Kesha La’Sara

The the planning begin! I see I need to make a trip ASAP.
